Description
Real famous Osaka Shinto maker Ikkanshi Awataguchi Tadatsuna.  Famous maker known for his work in “Ashi naga” choji (long ashi choji), this sword exhibits this characteristic very well.  Textbook Tadatsuna, with original tang unaltered is a very highly collectable piece for any collection.  Classic Osaka styled yakidashi that smoothly turns into the main hamon show that this sword is as classic as they get.  Long ashi choji midare with kinsuji in places makes up most of the gorgeous hamon.  Long strong shape adds to the package.

Highly rated as a “JoJo saku” maker, he followed in his fathers footsteps and became more famous and more skilled.  Fujishiro in his book also states that Tadatsuna was most skilled at making this style of choji midare, therefore you get the best of his work here in this piece.  The first generation signed the same way, with the exception of how the “Tsuna” character is written, therefore we know and guarantee that this sword is the 2nd, more famous Tadatsuna.  In an old polish, this sword would really shine with a new professional Japanese polish.  Accompanied with an old NTHK paper, but we also guarantee this sword to pass the NBTHK shinsa if sent through us within 1 year of purchase date.

Hamon is very bright and healthy, there are NO flaws on this sword that we can see.  It is a very healthy example of this maker and the hamon is made up of very nice nie.  Slight scratches, but NOTHING even close to a serious problem!  Boshi is very full and healthy in a very nice classic Osaka maru style.  There is ji nie in the hada, and is made very solid.  In an old shirasaya with a copper habaki (we think that this habaki was foiled before).
